Location: Flipboard Cafe
Address: 141 La Trobe St
Melbourne has the best cafes and my new favourite place would definitely be this quaint little wooden space called Flipboard. Located along La Trobe Street, Flipboard is a stone’s throw away from RMIT City Campus and scenic Carlton Gardens. This newly opened split-level cafe is the brainchild of an invincible pair; an architect and an interior designer who successfully utilized the minimum space they had. It first opened its doors for business on 11 October and has already attracted numerous press. The future for Flipboard is bright and I urge you to pay a visit before it becomes overwhelmingly popular. If you can, drop by during non-peak periods to avoid disappointments as securing seats are already getting tricky. While I have yet to sample any food from Flipboard, the coffee here is pretty damn good. I spent my afternoon here with Brendan and Lupita in one of Flipboard’s ‘cubicle’ and witnessed every passerby turning around in amazement. While I wish I was a head turner, I know that certainly wasn’t the case. It’s evident that Flipboard’s interesting concept is simply irresistible.
